Emergence Concerns??

As I am writing this post, it is a beautiful spring morning. The sun is shining, and there is not a cloud in the sky. The excitement of spring planting will again be upon us in a few days after more than a week of rain.

The problem? 

It’s now May 2, we have just finished a cold and wet weather cycle that left our area with over two inches of rain in three days. We even had a little snow, and four consecutive days of soil temperatures that sat stagnant at a seed-chilling 43 degrees.

I have talked to a lot of our customers over the last couple of weeks, and it seems as though there are some concerns out there. Everyone has a level of anxiety about “should I have planted?”, “should I have planted more?”, or “did I plant too much?” At this point in the season, no one really knows the answer to those questions just yet. Ultimately, we will find out those answers in the weeks and months to come.
